Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

The LORD opens the eyes of the blind (Psalm 146:8 NKJV).
How do you pray for God’s servants, and how do you pray for those who are spiritually blind?
In today’s reading, Elisha faced an army sent to kill him. Yet, he was bold and unafraid. When his servant feared the army, Elisha reassured him, saying, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them” (2 Kings 6:16 NKJV). He then prayed for God to open his servant’s eyes. Are we, like Elisha, interceding for clarity and vision for those serving the Lord?
“So then the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, and said, 'Strike this people, I pray, with blindness.' And He struck them with blindness, according to the word of Elisha” (2 Kings 6:18 NKJV). Later, Elisha led the blinded army to the king of Israel and prayed, “LORD, open the eyes of these men, that they may see” (2 Kings 6:20 NKJV). Are you praying for the spiritually blind to see? Elisha impacted both his servant and the army through prayer.
Today, let's commit to interceding for both, trusting God to open eyes and bring clarity.
Employment Point: Pray for God’s servants’ spiritual sight and for the blind to see.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
