Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 130 OF 365

I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3 NKJV).

As a Christian, are you faithfully sharing the Gospel, telling others to be born again?

In today’s reading, Jesus told Nicodemus, “You must be born again” (John 3:7 NKJV). Jesus then illustrates this by referring to the historical event in Numbers 21, where the Israelites were healed when, in faith, they looked upon the symbol of a snake upon the cross. He then connects the dots and says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 NKJV).

Are you pointing people to the cross? Like Jesus, we should direct others to look upon the cross by faith, where the work of salvation was finished (John 19:30).

How are you sharing the message of being born again? Consider simple ways, like striking up a conversation at the grocery store or when sitting around the table with friends and family. You can share about God's love and the need for spiritual rebirth in everyday interactions. Today, let’s be intentional about sharing this crucial message, guiding others to find new life in Christ.

Employment Point: Repeatedly tell people to be born again.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
