07. Works for the Good
What: God’s plans produce good
Lectio. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28, NIV – read Rom. 8:28–30).
Meditatio. As he explained the work of the Spirit in God’s perfect righteousness, Paul taught that the Lord plans and acts in all things. His purpose is that those who love Him be shaped until they reflect the image of His Son.
Oratio. Submit to God’s action in every circumstance. Confess with faith that, in every situation, He is leading you to the true good: to be transformed into the likeness of Jesus.
Contemplatio. Go down to the potter’s house. Watch how he shapes the clay, tears down and remakes until the vessel is perfect, without flaws. In the same way, God works in your life until you fully assume the form He planned.
Confessio. Like many believers, I once interpreted the “good” of Romans 8:28 as healing, problem-solving, or provision of needs. I have learned that the true good in God’s plan is to become more and more like Jesus.

That’s why we need to go deeper into God’s Word and learn to see our lives through His plans. In this 21-day journey of Lectio Divina, you will discover from Scripture what God’s plans are, how they work, and why seeking them brings security, joy, and purpose in every circumstance.
