Trusting His Forgiveness

As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us. (Psalm 103:12 , NIV)

Let’s face it: we are human. We miss the mark and mess up. We hurt people and we hurt ourselves. We know what we’ve done or didn’t do. And when we think about it, shame and guilt burn within us. We lock ourselves in a prison of embarrassment and don’t believe we can ever be forgiven.

But we can. And we are. God granted us the forgiveness of our sins when Jesus took them on Himself, canceled our debts when He died, and rose again from the grave. It is finished. It is full and final. When the enemy whispers lies that you are unforgiveable, focus on the truth that God’s grace covers you. Trust God’s Word over your feelings and remind yourself that your sins are forgiven once and for all.

Freedom in Christ gives us new hope and the courage to continue on, knowing that God has seen everything in our lives and still loves us. He’s cast our sins as far as the east is from the west and we are under the blood of Jesus, forever.

The truth for today is: We can trust God’s forgiveness. It’s final and full.

Prayer:

Father God, help me believe that I am fully forgiven. You say that I am, and Jesus has made my way; help me live that out. Quiet the voice of shame and replace it with Your voice of truth. Amen.
