Finding the Words

DAY 10 OF 30

Dear Lord Jesus,

You are the “radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature.” You “uphold the universe by the word of Your power.” You currently reign seated “at the right hand of the Majesty on high.” You are the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. You are the creator and the sustainer of life. There is no one higher than You, so we turn to You today and praise Your name, while we make our requests known.

Lord, we know there are many who are struggling with significant health issues. Some have recently sprung up, while others have lingered for years. May You bring healing to these areas of pain today as You will, and may You also bring peace to the souls in the midst of these storms as they cling to You.

Lord, there are also many who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Some have passed in the last few weeks, while others have been years, but the pain and loss remain. May Your presence, Your Spirit, and Your truth encourage them today so that they may grieve, but yet as those with hope.

Lord, there are also many who are struggling with depression, anxiety, or other deep trials. May You bolster their souls today as they tether themselves to You, the Rock of their salvation and their all in all. May Your promise be true in their lives today, that as they come to You, You would give them peace.

And Lord, we pray for those who are deep in the struggle with their flesh and sin. May You pull their lives back into alignment with Your truth. May their affections be centered on You and Your eternal agenda that leads to life, instead of on their fleshly desires that lead to death. May Your Spirit empower and embolden them to walk in Your ways today and find freedom from the destructive pattern of sin.

Lord, where else can we go for these things but to You? You are the One who has the words of eternal life, and Your life is what we need. We turn to You, our fountain of living water, today.

In Your healing and holy name we pray, AMEN

About this Plan

Finding the Words

Ask many Christians about their prayer life, and they will admit their struggle to find the words to pray. For thousands of years, liturgies have helped believers articulate words in their communication with God. This collection of 30 prayers (and the Scripture behind them) is designed to improve our prayer lives as we allow God's Word to populate our words in prayer.
