Finding the WordsSample

Dear Lord Jesus,
You are the Good Shepherd. You care for Your people, and Your care, oh Lord, is not just a sentiment, but a steady plan of action. You lead us through dark valleys of concern. You protect us from the evil one. You provide for our needs. Today, we come before You, our Good Shepherd, and we pray for Your leadership over, protection of, and provision for all those among us who are hurting physically or spiritually.
We pray that, throughout whatever valley of sickness we are walking through that You would lead us and comfort our souls. May we not be afraid in moments of uncertainty, but learn to lean on You as our all in all. We pray for a joy that surpasses understanding to dominate our perspective even in the midst of difficult circumstances.
We pray for those who are sick today. We pray that You would use the doctors and professionals to administer Your care, clearing bodies from all sickness and restoring the sick among us to full health. You are not bound by the actions of doctors, Lord Jesus, and we know that You can bring healing to the sick in any way. So we turn to You, the Great Physician, and trust in Your care for us each day.
Lord, we also want to pray for the families of those who are sick or struggling. We pray that You would care for them in this moment and encourage their souls today. May Your rod and staff comfort them.
And finally, Lord, we are amazed that You are not limited to seeing one patient at a time, but are able to provide personalized and compassionate care to all Your people at the very same moment. May we all turn to You in faith and be led by You through the dark valley.
Lord, we praise You that Your goodness and mercy continue to follow us all our days as we have the promise of dwelling in Your house forever.
In Your life-giving name we pray - AMEN

About this Plan

Ask many Christians about their prayer life, and they will admit their struggle to find the words to pray. For thousands of years, liturgies have helped believers articulate words in their communication with God. This collection of 30 prayers (and the Scripture behind them) is designed to improve our prayer lives as we allow God's Word to populate our words in prayer.
