Addiction Rewritten: Addiction Takes, God ProvidesSample

When addiction dims your joy, God shines a light on it.
When actively addicted, it can feel as though you are in a dark tunnel, with the end nowhere in sight. It can feel as though you are aimlessly wandering through darkness. There is no light creeping in. There is no lasting ease or peace. There is no joy — only the next wave of numbness.
We don’t find joy in escape. It is in Jesus that we find everlasting joy. When we trust in the Lord during our darkest moments, joy starts to return. His Spirit brings peace where there is chaos, and hope where there is despair. He brings us little moments where His light gets through. And when we follow Him, that light builds until we are overflowing with it.
Prayer
God, I ask that You bring joy back into my life. Even if it’s just a small moment today, let it remind me that joy is still possible. Fill my heart more each day, until one day I’m overflowing with the joy only You can give. Amen.

About this Plan

Addiction can take more than we realize — our peace, our identity, our relationships, and even our hope. But God is a provider, not a thief. In this 30-day devotional journey, you’ll uncover how God can meet you in the mess, rewrite your story, and restore what addiction tried to steal. With God, nothing is wasted. Addiction makes false promises, but God always delivers on His. Through Him, you have a powerful testimony worth sharing.
