Addiction Rewritten: Addiction Takes, God ProvidesSample

When addiction closes doors, God opens new ones.
Addiction has a way of not only closing doors but also slamming them shut. Relationships can crumble. Opportunities disappear. Dreams fade. Door after door, your life becomes a tunnel with only one obvious way forward: more substance abuse. Until God comes knocking.
He doesn’t kick down the doors you’ve closed. He patiently and purposefully opens the ones that need opening at the right time in the right way. Have you ever heard someone say that you might not try to open a door if you knew what was on the other side? God knows what’s on the other side. When He opens a door, it’s not to scare you or set you up for failure — it’s to lead you into something better. When He leaves a door closed, it’s because there is a better one to walk through.
Prayer
God, help me trust Your plan for my life. I can’t see what’s next, but You can. Give me the courage to walk through the doors You open and accept that some doors close for a reason. Amen.
