Addiction Rewritten: Addiction Takes, God ProvidesSample

When addiction leaves you empty, God fills you with the Holy Spirit.
For most addicts, substances are a way to fill a void deep inside of them. We all know that emptiness. We all know how painful it can be to feel like there is something missing. Drugs, alcohol, sex, money — there are countless ways to temporarily fill the void. But the high will wear off. The liquid in the bottle will empty. The emptiness will remain.
What we’re really searching for is something permanent, something that will always satisfy. Only the Holy Spirit can truly fill that void once and for all. Only God can bring lasting peace. Only God can bring lasting joy. Only God can bring lasting comfort. Only God can make us feel whole.
Prayer
God, I’m tired of feeling empty. I’ve tried to fill the void within me and find only temporary relief. Fill me with Your Spirit so I can finally be satisfied. Amen.

About this Plan

Addiction can take more than we realize — our peace, our identity, our relationships, and even our hope. But God is a provider, not a thief. In this 30-day devotional journey, you’ll uncover how God can meet you in the mess, rewrite your story, and restore what addiction tried to steal. With God, nothing is wasted. Addiction makes false promises, but God always delivers on His. Through Him, you have a powerful testimony worth sharing.
