Awakening Faith: Hope From the Global ChurchSample

Hospitality as Gospel Proclamation
After more than 26 hours of travel, I stumbled through the airport, exhausted in body and restless in mind. My thoughts swirled with questions: Will I be enough? Will the message be received? Do I have what it takes to lead here?
Then I walked into the arrivals area. And there he was.
A man I had never met in person stood waiting with flowers in hand, arms open wide, and smiling with unmistakable joy. He knew who I was. He was ready to welcome me. Not because I had earned it, but because this is what followers of Jesus do: they make welcome, they honor, and they extend hospitality even at great cost.
In that moment, the Gospel became visible again. His hospitality became a Kingdom witness. Christ meets us in unfamiliar places through the radical kindness of His people. Hospitality declares that love still wins even in a world of division and suspicion.
Paul exhorted the church in Rome: “Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” Hospitality is not optional. It’s discipleship in action. It’s how the family of God lives as a sign of the coming Kingdom.
Who might need that kind of welcome from you today?
