Rosh Hashanah - the Shofar's Call and the Messiah's ReturnSample

The Start of Something New
Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year, a time for new beginnings. It's a moment to take stock of the past year and set new goals for the future. The symbolism of the apple and honey, consumed to wish for a "sweet new year," reflects the yearning for a better and blessed life.
The Word of God calls us to something much deeper than a new year: it calls us to a new birth. Isaiah reminds us not to cling to the past, because God is doing something new. The apostle Paul teaches us that, in Christ, we are a "new creation." In Jesus, the Messiah, the new beginning is not annual, but eternal. He gives us the opportunity to start over, not based on our works, but on His grace.
Personal Application: The Messiah is our opportunity for a new beginning every day. Are you ready to leave the past behind and embrace the new life He offers you? May this day inspire you to let go of old habits, to forgive, and to walk in newness of life.
Call to Intercession: Pray for the spiritual awakening of the Jewish people and the Church of Christ. May the Church remember that the prophetic fulfillment of the feasts, including Rosh Hashanah, points to Jesus. And may the Jewish people, as they seek a new beginning, find the true and eternal newness of life in the Messiah.
