Unleashing Faithfulness

DAY 8 OF 20

Doing good can sometimes be exhausting, and we can end up feeling like we have nothing left to give. While most of us think “doing good” involves acts of service, in God’s eyes, doing good can also be deeply personal. What if “good things” also mean trusting God, walking in obedience, and staying faithful in what He asks of us, even when it’s hard, unseen, or unpopular?

Paul’s words in Galatians 6:9 encourage us when we feel discouraged in our efforts to do good. It’s Paul’s way of saying, “Don’t give up!” He challenges us to be stubborn in our faith. Paul didn’t say it would be easy to do good. In fact, he acknowledged that weariness can be part of it! But what Paul did offer is a promise that when we’re determined to do good, a harvest will come. Faithfulness has a reward, even if it takes time and we struggle to get there.

If you’re in a season where you feel like you’re planting trees that you will never sit under, be encouraged that your efforts toward doing good matter. Whether to you, “doing good” means serving others or if it means trusting and following God, God sees your faithfulness and wants you to find strength in Him to keep going.

About this Plan

Unleashing Faithfulness

It's easy to look at characters from the Bible, early church leaders, and even modern-day leaders and assume that the goal is to have an extraordinary faith. Does that mean that faithfulness is marked by the extraordinary? This devotional will look at the words Paul left for his young friend, Timothy. As someone who lived an impressive life of faithfulness himself, Paul outlined how we can do the same in every area of our lives, no matter our circumstances.
