Defeating AnxietySample

Trusting God in the Middle of the Storm
When anxiety takes hold, the temptation is to withdraw—from God, from people, and from spiritual disciplines. Looking back, I can see that when I was suffering from anxiety, I wasn’t really abiding in God’s Word as I should have. Scripture became occasional rather than essential, and that made my heart more vulnerable.
The peace Paul describes in Philippians is supernatural. It’s not found in circumstances but in the presence of God. Prayer, thanksgiving, and continual reliance on His Word are like oxygen for an anxious soul.
Respond to God’s Word:
Commit to reading and memorizing one Scripture each day this week that speaks directly to fear or anxiety.
