Your Gifts Have a Purpose

We often separate spiritual gifts from natural talents, but in reality, God weaves them all together for a greater purpose. Matthew had a sharp mind, a talent for numbers, and an eye for detail—skills that seemed wasted in his tax-collecting job. But Jesus saw potential where others saw a lost cause.

In The Chosen (Season 1, Episode 8), Matthew begins his journey with Jesus. Though he’s still figuring things out, Jesus already has a plan. Eventually, Matthew’s skills will be used to record Jesus’ teachings and write the Gospel of Matthew. The very thing that once isolated him—his meticulous, analytical nature—will serve the Kingdom of God.

The Bible tells us that every person is given gifts by the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:4-7). These gifts are not just for personal success but for the good of others. Some of us are teachers, others are encouragers, some are administrators or servants. And you? Whatever your abilities, they are part of God’s plan!
