Gideon - From Fear to VictorySample

Day 7 – Encouragement from Unexpected Places
Scripture:
Judges 7:9–15
Devotional:
God knew Gideon was still afraid, so He gave him an unusual assignment: go down into the enemy’s camp. There Gideon overheard a Midianite telling a dream of defeat, and another giving its interpretation: “This is no other than the sword of Gideon… God has given Midian into his hand.”
What an incredible moment, encouragement came not from Israel, but from the mouths of the enemy! Immediately, Gideon bowed in worship. The man who had been filled with fear now returned to his camp filled with courage.
God knows when our hearts tremble, and He knows how to strengthen us. Sometimes His encouragement comes through Scripture, sometimes through a friend, and sometimes from the most unlikely sources. He meets us where we are, not where we think we should be.
Reflection:
Where has God spoken encouragement to me through an unexpected voice or situation? Am I willing to listen for His encouragement in surprising places?
Prayer:
Thank You, Lord, that You know when I am afraid. Speak to me through Your word, through others, and even through unexpected voices that strengthen my faith.
