Wonderfully Made - Created in the Image of GodSample

Understanding Your Identity
We all have things that make up who we are—our achievements, failures, group identities, and goals. Like a Mr. Potato Head, many components make us, us. But how often do we stop to think about what shapes our identity? God has a lot to say about it.
The verses today show us that God has intimately crafted who you are, and He has plans for you.
If there are so many things that make up our identity, shouldn’t we pay attention to what they are? Ignorance of who we are leaves us unprepared to navigate life. It’s like realising you had an assignment due that you didn’t know about or waking up late for work. Without understanding our identity, how can we strengthen it or walk confidently in who God created us to be?
Your identity matters deeply to God because it’s tied to how He made you. He has uniquely designed you for a purpose, and knowing this truth can give you confidence to live out your calling.
Take some time this week to reflect on the things that influence your sense of identity. Are they building you up or pulling you away from who God says you are? Spend time in prayer asking God to reveal how He sees you. Write down Jeremiah 1:5 or Psalm 139:14 (“I am fearfully and wonderfully made”) and keep it somewhere visible as a reminder of your value in God’s eyes. Let this truth shape how you view yourself and how you live each day.
