Making God FirstSample

Living for God’s Glory
Every part of creation points to God’s glory, and our lives are meant to do the same. Yet it’s so easy to slip into living for ourselves. Many people chase paychecks, comfort, or recognition, believing that’s the way to measure success. But those things are temporary and shallow. The higher calling is to live for God’s glory, our God-given purpose.
I see how common it is to pursue only the superficial things of life. I’ve even felt that pull myself. But the truth is, living for recognition or comfort will never bring lasting satisfaction. When we live for God’s glory, our lives are tied to something eternal. Whether at work, at home, or in daily choices, every action becomes an opportunity to reflect Him.
Living this way isn’t always easy. Temptations and distractions will come, but God is faithful and gives us strength to remain true. When we live for His glory, our lives become testimonies that point others to Him.
“God is looking for people through whom He can do the impossible. What a pity that we plan only the things we can do by ourselves.”-A.W. Tozer
Respond to God’s Word:
Think of one area of your life that feels ordinary. Ask God to show you how to live for His glory in that place this week.
My prayer is that your family prioritizes the Lord. One resource that has helped our family stay rooted in the Lord is a simple weekly guide we use together.
Each week, we receive a short guide with a Bible verse, a worship song, seven daily conversation questions, and a short prayer to help guide our family time. It’s helped us process tough moments together and stay connected to God’s voice, even when the world makes us feel left out.
