Making God First

DAY 2 OF 5

Seeking the Kingdom Above All

One of the greatest battles we face is between worry and trust. When our eyes are fixed on needs, problems, and pressures, worry takes over. But when our eyes are lifted toward God’s kingdom, we see what matters most. Seeking God’s kingdom first doesn’t mean ignoring responsibilities; it means living with priorities aligned to what is eternal.

I know what it feels like to miss this. In the past, I have sought positions, titles, and recognition. I thought those things would bring meaning, but instead, they left me striving and empty. Chasing the approval of people is exhausting, but seeking God’s kingdom brings peace. When we put Him first, He promises to provide what we need, not always what we want, but what is truly best for us.

Seeking His kingdom above all also reshapes how we live daily life. It changes how we make decisions, how we spend our time, and how we use our resources. It frees us from living small lives focused on ourselves and invites us into the bigger story of God’s purpose.

“As God is exalted to the right place in our lives, a thousand problems are solved all at once.”-A.W. Tozer

Respond to God’s Word:

Pray today: “Lord, I release my pursuit of recognition and position. Help me to seek Your kingdom above all else.”
