Think about the people you find hardest to love. Maybe they’ve hurt you. Maybe you don’t understand them. Maybe you’ve just given up trying.

Now think about this: God didn’t wait until we had it all together to love us. He loves us while we’re still a mess, still broken, still selfish, still lost, still trying to figure things out. That’s the kind of love we’ve been given. And that’s the kind of love we’re called to give others.

When we love others, not because they’ve earned it, but because we’ve received it, we become living proof of God’s love. It’s a way that we can show others what God’s love looks like. Loving like that takes courage. It takes trust. But it starts with remembering how deeply we’ve been loved first.
