Impulses for the Way: 30 Days on the Camino De Santiago

DAY 14 OF 30

Hope

Settle into this quiet space. Breathe. Ask God to meet you where you are right now.

Today, Barrett challenges us to think about the word “hope.” Is our hope just “wish-casting” or is it “centered on a God who loves and cares for his creation and who is faithful to his children”?

Consider this: where do I place my hope?

Reflect on Micah 7:7: “But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me” (NIV).

And Isaiah 40:31:“Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint” (NIV).

What sticks out to you about these words? What is challenging the way you think about hope?

Slowly read these verses again. Ask the Holy Spirit: Help me understand how an active hope in Jesus can transform my life. Ask Him to help you do it.

Rest. Jesus is our ultimate hope.

About this Plan

Impulses for the Way: 30 Days on the Camino De Santiago

What if following Jesus was like walking the Camino de Santiago—dusty paths, vineyards, mountain passes, and ancient Roman roads? *Impulses for the Way* is a 30-day, video devotional filmed across 800km of this historic pilgrimage. Barrett Harkins, who lives in Santiago and serves pilgrims daily, shares stories from the trail, Scripture reflections, and prayers that explore restlessness, forgiveness, hope, and radical grace. Whether you’re on the Camino or navigating daily life, these short videos invite you to take the next step with Jesus—listening to the Spirit’s whispers and remembering this truth: you never walk alone.
