Impulses for the Way: 30 Days on the Camino De SantiagoSample

A Life Changed
As you begin your time today, start with a few deep breaths. Pay attention to your body. Wherever you feel tense, use your breath to release and relax.
Set your mind and your heart to attend to these moments with the Holy Spirit.
In the video, Barrett discusses how pilgrimage changes us. Knowing Jesus changes us, too. He claims that “James stands as an invitation to all pilgrims to come and find out what is so special about Jesus.”
Consider: Have I discovered what’s so special about Jesus? Has he changed me?
Slowly and thoughtfully read the following Bible passage: “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun” (2 Corinthians 5:17, NLT).
Ask yourself: What word or phrase sticks out to me from the passage? Ask the Holy Spirit to show you more about your life’s journey in light of that word.
Read the verse again.
Prayerfully consider what old things need to pass away in your life in order for new things to come?
Conclude your time by resting in God’s presence. Receive his loving invitation to continue on the journey of becoming more like Jesus.
About this Plan

What if following Jesus was like walking the Camino de Santiago—dusty paths, vineyards, mountain passes, and ancient Roman roads? *Impulses for the Way* is a 30-day, video devotional filmed across 800km of this historic pilgrimage. Barrett Harkins, who lives in Santiago and serves pilgrims daily, shares stories from the trail, Scripture reflections, and prayers that explore restlessness, forgiveness, hope, and radical grace. Whether you’re on the Camino or navigating daily life, these short videos invite you to take the next step with Jesus—listening to the Spirit’s whispers and remembering this truth: you never walk alone.
