Where do you turn for peace when you’ve had a hard day? In today’s world, it’s easy to find refuge in other people—friends or family members—or even worrying more about what other people think of us than what God does. Worrying about others’ opinions of us is one sure way to lose our peace fast, but if we want to give our hearts peace and rejuvenation, we can always turn to God on our hard days, knowing that He is the Rock on which we can build the foundation of our emotions, our feelings—but especially our faith.

Bringing your soul to God and putting Him and His thoughts toward you first in your life can truly help you find the peace you need. And fostering your relationship with Him—building a strong foundation by reading His Word, maintaining a healthy prayer life, attending a faith-filled body of believers regularly, and listening to and obeying His voice—is the best way to live the life of purpose and joy that He has for you. Do you put Him first in your life? Does His opinion matter more to you than the opinions of family or friends? Renew your trust in Him today—His plans are best, and His purposes for you are for good!

When was the last time you stopped to pray and just thank God for something He’s done for you? Not ask Him for anything—but just share with Him something wonderful that happened in your day? When you focus on your relationship with Him and put it first, you will want to share with Him both the good and the bad parts of your day—not just the problems with which you need help. Above all, remember that God is always there for you—you can trust Him! He loves you so very much!
