2 CorinthiansSample

In these verses, Paul seems to continue reflecting on his own life. He sees the many difficulties and problems he experiences, precisely because he tirelessly serves Jesus. Yet his gaze shifts more and more away from his present life on this earth and turns toward the new thing he awaits in God's world. He looks forward to this goal—it is the perspective of eternity that shapes him. Paul lives his life with a clear view of the future that God has in store for him.
For Prayer
"Jesus, set my heart on eternity. In the midst of life's challenges, let me never lose hope for the coming life with You."
Scripture
About this Plan

“It’s complicated”—that is probably an apt way to describe the relationship between Paul and the church in Corinth. His first letter was met with resistance: some rejected his criticism and even questioned his authority. Paul traveled to Corinth in person—a painful visit. After he returned, he wrote a severe letter in tears. The church responded: many repented. Paul heard about this from Titus and wrote again—our Second Letter to the Corinthians. It is a testimony to genuine reconciliation, to love that has been hurt, and to the divine power that can heal even broken relationships, even today.
