Preparing for OutpouringSample

Waiting for the Promised Holy Spirit
Waiting rarely feels easy, but in the upper room, the waiting was holy. Jesus had told them to stay in Jerusalem until they received the promised Holy Spirit. So they did. Not passively, but prayerfully. Together. Expectant. Trusting that what He said, He would do. So much of the Christian life happens in this kind of space—between promise and fulfillment. The temptation is to rush ahead or grow weary, but God meets those who wait with hearts turned toward Him. Pentecost didn’t come because they earned it. It came because they waited in faith. And the same Spirit who came then is still being poured out today—for those willing to pause, pray, and believe.
Prayer: Faithful Father, teach us to wait with expectant hearts. When we grow weary, fill us with renewed trust in Your timing and promises. Prepare us for all You desire to do in and through us. Come, Holy Spirit. We are waiting for You. Amen.
Reflection:
1) How do I typically respond in seasons of waiting?
2) What is something I am asking God to do—and am willing to wait on?

About this Plan

Welcome to Preparing for Outpouring – A 10-Day Journey Toward Pentecost. No matter where you are in your faith—seasoned believer or just beginning to explore—this journey is for you. Each day offers space to slow down, reflect, and make room for the Holy Spirit. Scripture says Jesus gives “the Spirit without limit” (John 3:34), and He’s still pouring out His presence on all who are willing to receive.
