The Gospel of MatthewSample

Relationship Over Religion
In today’s social media world, it’s easy to confuse connection with relationship. Just because someone follows or likes your posts doesn’t mean they truly know you—or that you know them. The same confusion can happen in our faith. Many claim a relationship with God, but their lives show little to no obedience or surrender.
Jesus confronted this kind of disconnect. He warned against living for appearances while the heart remains unchanged. True relationship with God isn’t about putting on a show; it’s about living with sincere faith and humble obedience.
Obedience may sound old-fashioned in a culture that prizes independence and self-expression. But in God’s kingdom, obedience is the fruit of real love. It’s how we say, “I trust You.” It’s how we stay close to His heart.
You can know all the right words and still miss the heart of God. What He desires most isn’t performance—it’s authenticity. He wants your heart, not your highlight reel.
Respond to God’s Word:
Ask God to reveal any pride or pretense that may be hiding in your walk with Him. Invite Him to renew your heart with genuine humility and a desire to obey Him fully.
