Devotional Thought:
The Church isn’t just for the people who’ve always belonged. It’s for the ones who used to be far off. The outsiders. The ones who felt left out. That’s what Paul wants the Gentiles to know: you’re not second-class anymore. You don’t just get to show up—you get access to everything Jesus offers. But Paul also knows that’s hard to believe. It’s one thing to hear you belong—it’s another thing to feel like you do. That’s why he prays for the Spirit to help us get it—not just in our heads, but deep in our hearts. YOU were once cut off. But now, through Jesus, YOU are fully included. YOU have access. YOU are loved. YOU are home. And even when you don’t feel it, Paul says God’s love for YOU is real—it’s wide, long, high, and deep. It can hold you. The gospel and all its benefits are not just for everyone else…they are for YOU, too.
Reflection Question:
Do you believe the Church is really for you—or do you still feel like an outsider? What would it look like to ask the Spirit to help you believe what’s true?

About this Plan

The book of Ephesians is a letter written by Paul while imprisoned in Rome. He wrote to encourage believers in Ephesus, a wealthy city known for trade and idol worship. These Christians had once been far from God but were now learning what it meant to be found in Him. Paul reminded them of their new identity in Christ and called them to live differently—treating others well, speaking kindly, obeying, and standing strong in faith through life’s challenges. Join us in this 14-day devotional as we unpack Ephesians and what it means to follow Jesus!
