EquipHer Vol. 24: "Who’s Economy Are You Working For?"

DAY 5 OF 5

Day 5 – True Wealth Is Through Trusting Not Chasing

Over the past few days, we’ve learned that Heaven’s economy is rooted in principles radically different from those of the world. God’s “currency” is made of abundance, faith, generosity, and integrity—values that transform the way we approach work, leadership, and ambition.

However, there is one aspect, perhaps the most delicate and challenging of all, that speaks directly to every person who longs to honor God through business: wealth. How do we define it? How do we pursue it?

In today’s world, financial wealth is something to chase—a destination. The more you earn, the more you are valued. The more you own, the more respect you gain. This approach creates a never-ending race, driven by the fear of falling behind or being less than someone else. However, in God’s economy, financial wealth is not a goal—it is a tool. It is not a symbol of superiority, but a resource to be stewarded with wisdom.

“My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 NIV). This isn’t a promise of comfort. It’s a declaration of sovereignty: God knows exactly what you need, and He will not let you lack anything necessary to fulfill the call He has placed on your life.

God is not calling you to chase wealth—but to trust His ability to provide. This is the heart of Kingdom wealth: to live, work, and build with the confidence that He has already set aside what you need. It is a different vision of success, because it is one that is not fueled by the anxiety of falling behind, rather, the peace that comes from trusting in divine provision.

In God’s Kingdom, wealth is not measured by what you accumulate—but by how willing you are to place everything you have in His hands. This isn’t an invitation to poverty or passivity. Quite the opposite. God is a generous God, and the Bible doesn’t condemn prosperity, but it does warn against pride, greed, and the anxious mindset of “never enough.”

Heaven’s economy invites you to trust, not chase, and build with peace, not pressure. It invites you to work with excellence, knowing the outcomes belong to Him, and it invites you to seek His Kingdom first, trusting that everything else will be added to you as a natural consequence of placing Him at the center of your life (Matthew 6:33).

Reflective Questions:

  • How could you pursue prosperity with a heart more aligned to God’s values?
  • Where do you need to trust again in His provision?

Prayer:
Lord, thank you that in Your economy, I am not defined by numbers, but by the calling You have placed on my life. Teach me to live with the peace that comes from knowing You will provide. I want to work with vision, not fear. I want to prosper in faithfulness and steward every resource You entrust to me for the good of Your Kingdom. Amen.

About this Plan

EquipHer Vol. 24: "Who’s Economy Are You Working For?"

In today’s world—especially in business —value is often measured in numbers: money, statistics, followers, etc. This type of “currency” tends to breed competition, fear, and a scarcity mentality, however, there is good news. God operates with a different kind of currency. His economy is built on faith, love, justice, and generosity. In this devotional, we’ll explore how to spend God’s currency in our careers, allowing His values to transform our leadership, our decisions, and our definition of success.
