EquipHer Vol. 24: "Who’s Economy Are You Working For?"Sample

Day 4 – Living With Integrity
There are moments—in both work and life—when we are tempted to choose what is easy over what is right because we want to protect an image, avoid conflict, or keep someone’s approval. It is a subtle dynamic, sometimes almost invisible, but it slowly pulls us away from the person we truly want to become. In the economy of the world—where appearances often matter more than substance—integrity can feel like a burden or even a disadvantage. But in God’s economy, it is a treasure of immeasurable worth.
Integrity is a heart-level choice that shapes every decision we make, every word we speak, every step we take. It is a deep alignment between what we believe and how we actually live. It is a quiet but steady way of life—one that does not change form based on the context. Living with integrity means staying true to what is right, even when it would be easier to look the other way, to adapt, or to take a shortcut.
Scripture calls “blessed” those who walk in integrity: “Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord.” (Psalm 119:1 NIV)
Integrity brings blessing, peace, and stability. It is the foundation God builds on. While the world says we need to compromise in order to stay in the game, God invites us to be whole so He can fully use us. And that applies to every area of life.
In the professional world, integrity is not just a moral value—it is a strategic principle that aligns with the logic of God’s Kingdom. It is what makes our success sustainable, our leadership credible, and our influence authentic. In a system where outcomes often matter more than process, choosing to act with integrity means refusing to trade our principles for a quick win. It means not manipulating a deal to close it faster, not making promises we cannot keep, and not going with the flow just to avoid friction.
Sometimes it might feel like a losing strategy. But in God’s logic, that very choice is what prepares us to receive more and to build something that lasts. Integrity is a quiet seed that produces visible fruit over time. It is what earns the trust of those we work with. It is what opens doors that talent alone cannot unlock.
If your calling is to bring light into spaces where compromise is the norm, then integrity is not optional—it is your boldest declaration of faith. Because every time you choose to remain faithful to the Truth, you are choosing to build according to God’s economy.
Reflective questions:
- Is there an area of your work where you feel tempted to conform rather than stay true to your values?
- How would your impact shift if integrity became your defining trait instead of a silent sacrifice?
Prayer:
Lord, help me walk in integrity in my workplace, even when it feels hard or inconvenient. Remind me that I do not work to meet people’s expectations but to reflect You and Your character. I want to build a career marked by Your seal of Truth—every day, in every decision. Amen.

About this Plan

In today’s world—especially in business —value is often measured in numbers: money, statistics, followers, etc. This type of “currency” tends to breed competition, fear, and a scarcity mentality, however, there is good news. God operates with a different kind of currency. His economy is built on faith, love, justice, and generosity. In this devotional, we’ll explore how to spend God’s currency in our careers, allowing His values to transform our leadership, our decisions, and our definition of success.
