Do Not Be Anxious About Anything

DAY 4 OF 31

God Is With You

Scripture:

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10 NIV

Reflection:

Superman is one of the strongest heroes ever imagined, but his strength doesn’t come from within himself.

His invincibility comes from exposure to the sun.

When he’s wounded or weakened by an enemy, all he has to do is get back into the sunlight. Almost instantly, his strength is restored, and he becomes invincible again.

In the same way, we don't fight anxiety or fear in our own strength. When we live conscious of God's presence — when we stay close to Him through prayer, worship, and trust — we are infused with His supernatural power.

God’s presence is like the sunlight for our souls: it fills us, restores us, and strengthens us in ways we could never achieve on our own. When we step back into the light of His love, anxiety loses its grip.

It has to leave, just like a defeated enemy, because where God’s love is, fear cannot stay.

Journaling Prompt:

Close your eyes and imagine God’s love shining on you like the warm rays of the sun. Ask Him to speak to your heart and write down what He tells you.

Prayer:

Lord, when I feel afraid, remind me that You are near. Help me trust Your presence. Amen.

Practical Tip:

Go for a walk and ask the Holy Spirit to show you an object. Something small you can put in your pocket. A stone, a twig, an acorn? Keep it in your pocket. If you feel anxious, reach inside and you’ll have a physical reminder that God is with you.

About this Plan

Do Not Be Anxious About Anything

With a world that can often feel unpredictable and chaotic, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and anxious. But we are called to live above the chaos, ruling and reigning in Christ. How do we surrender our anxiety? We need the Holy Spirit and the Truth of God's Word more than ever. Each day in this 31-Day Reading Plan will give you a scripture, reflection, prayer, practical tip, and guided question to help you process your thoughts and feelings. Take those thoughts captive and align your heart with Truth.
