5 Days of Being Comforted by GodSample

Sorrow Healed
We are all unique individuals. That’s how God made us. Just like we all have different facial features and personalities, we all grieve differently. There are those who believe there is a certain time frame for grieving and a manner in which we should express our grief. This could not be further from the truth. There is no right or wrong way to grieve, and as much as we wish it were true – there is no fast track to getting through grief.
Each of us will walk our grief journey differently. The one thing we have in common is this: None of us can avoid grief. It’s part of the circle of life, and not one of us can make it disappear or go away quickly. What we can do is be there for one another. Lifting each other up. Praying for one another. Speaking a kind word of encouragement. Offering a smile — a burst of hope where there may not be one. As difficult as your day might be, don’t let the opportunity to positively touch someone else’s life slip away. Walking this grief journey together can help us all begin to heal our brokenness . . .one day at a time. (Hebrews 13:6)
Father God, thank You for making me who I am. I am Your child, and even though this grief journey may be the hardest walk I’ve taken, I want to walk every step with You. Provide opportunities where I may offer an encouraging word of support to another who is hurting. Although we are all different, we know that grief is grief and loss is loss. Our hearts all hurt the same, but You, Lord, are the healing balm that joins us together. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

About this Plan

Grief isn’t something we seek out. In fact, we often try to keep it at arm’s length—especially in a culture that prizes positivity. But as followers of Christ, grief is not something to avoid. It’s a sacred path through which we come to know the heart of God more deeply. Whether you're facing the death of a loved one, a health battle, or any kind of sorrow, our prayer is that this reading plan leads you to real comfort and lasting peace—found only in Jesus.
