Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!
S: Scripture
If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.
O: Observation
Read 1 Peter 4:10 again.
- What does it tell us about leadership?
- What does it instruct us to do?
- Why does it say we should do this?
A: Application
What's a gift or ability you have that you're tempted to keep to yourself?
What's a gift you want to use to lead others this week? What might that look like?
How can you encourage someone else to use what they have to lead others? Who might need encouragement from you today?
P: Prayer
Spend some time in prayer talking to God about the specific gifts and personality traits you've been given that reveal how you're made to lead. Ask for wisdom about how to best use these gifts and for opportunities to do so. Then say thank you that no matter who you are, God has made you to do awesome things.

About this Plan

We’ve all wondered who we are, what makes us unique, and how we’re supposed to make a difference in the world. It may not feel like a big deal, but how you spend your free time says a lot about who you are and what you care most about. It’s easy to feel like our interests and talents are just random, but the truth is that God created each of us with a purpose to do amazing things. For the next 28 days, we’ll see how the hobbies and interests you love might be exactly how God works through you.
