Made to Be

DAY 21 OF 28

At the end of every week, we'll give you a challenge—something to try that might be outside your regular routine. Each challenge is designed to help you develop one important spiritual habit. This week, it's...

USE YOUR GIFTS

God has given all of us unique gifts. Whether it's your skills, talents, character traits, experiences, lessons learned, or even some of the stuff you own, you have a lot you can share with others. Today's challenge is going to help you think about the gifts God has uniquely given you, and how you can use those gifts to love God and others. Because when we use our gifts for God, we grow!

For some of us, using our gifts in public spaces is easy. For others, we like to work behind the scenes or lead in more ways out of the limelight. For this challenge, evaluate which one you gravitate toward and then find a way to do the opposite.

That's right, if you prefer to stay behind the curtain, see if there's a way for you to be on stage, even for only one line or a brief introduction. If you usually like to be in charge of leading a big group, look for ways to be part of the crew following the main leader.

The idea isn't that you need to act outside of your gifting forever. By doing this, you might gain empathy for those gifted differently from you and a clearer understanding of what makes you a leader in a way only you can be.

About this Plan

Made to Be

We’ve all wondered who we are, what makes us unique, and how we’re supposed to make a difference in the world. It may not feel like a big deal, but how you spend your free time says a lot about who you are and what you care most about. It’s easy to feel like our interests and talents are just random, but the truth is that God created each of us with a purpose to do amazing things. For the next 28 days, we’ll see how the hobbies and interests you love might be exactly how God works through you.
