Discovering Your Calling

DAY 3 OF 5

When Moses left Egypt and stepped into obedience, things didn’t instantly improve. He didn’t wake up in his Purpose. He woke up in the wilderness, and for the next 40 years, there were no Burning Bushes and no Red Sea moments. During that time, it was just sheep, silence, and a desert that felt like a delay, but God wasn’t punishing Moses. He was preparing him.

The same is true for you. We all want the breakthrough, but few want the breaking. Yet it’s through the breaking that God builds the character needed to carry the Call.

Moses embraced suffering by choice. “Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin.” (Hebrews 11:25). That’s the kind of surrender that produces real Power. Not the kind that just shows up to be used—but the kind that says, “God, even if this hurts, I’m staying in it.”

Obedience will always cost something. And the deeper the Call, the heavier the weight. Pressure comes with your position. Pain comes from people. Pushback comes from the enemy. But the hardest hits often come from inside—from the insecurities, doubts, and internal battles that rise when you step out in faith.

The Lord never promised you comfort. He promised you that His Grace is sufficient. Often, He doesn’t always take away the burden, but He always strengthens your back to carry it. I want to encourage you not to check out during this season. Don’t assume you’ve missed it. You might be exactly where you need to be.

Don’t ask God to remove the stress—ask Him to increase your strength.

Challenge: List the main sources of stress or pressure in your life and ask the Lord for insight into what He is teaching you through these areas.

Let’s Pray:
Lord, I surrender my pain, pressure, and every part of the process. Teach me not to run from the hard things, but to lean into You when the burden gets heavy. Strengthen me from the inside out.
