Strategy for SuccessSample

The Fellowship of the Uncomfortable
Do you and your team only plan what you think can be accomplished?
I hope not! I hope you have enough ambition that you need the Holy Spirit to be present and working in order to succeed in your plans. If you are comfortable that your team has all that is needed to accomplish your plans, you will miss the joy that comes from living by faith.
We are driven to prayer when we realize we can’t accomplish a plan without the moving of the Lord.
I was scheduled to fly to a country 13,000 kilometers away. This country didn’t have a ministry serving sports. A friend had arranged a meeting with a particular sportsperson. However, my initial flight was delayed, and I missed the connection. I called my friend, who said he didn’t think the meeting could be rescheduled.
What should I do?
My plan was to spend one day in the country, have one meeting, and fly home.
Should I still travel 48 hours round-trip when the sportsperson I wanted to meet wasn’t even available? I decided to take the uncomfortable step — and the resulting joy was remarkable. I met someone else who saw the potential impact of sports.
As the years went by, that one meeting not only birthed sports ministry in that country but also in many nearby countries.
Yes, I could have wasted both time and finances. But walking by faith means taking risks and facing possible failure of “our” plans.
If you don’t include risk in your plans, your faith life will likely be boring compared to the joy and fulfillment that come when the Lord shows up and works out an improbable plan. You need to build faith steps into your plan because our natural tendency is to stay comfortable. Comfort leads to a stale and dry faith.
The world of sports has endless opportunities.
So, include plans that stretch beyond your horizon to increase your faith.
Scripture to Ponder:
2 Corinthians 5:7 —“For we live by faith, not by sight.”
Key Lesson:
Your role is to walk by faith and let the Father and His Spirit show up as they choose!
