Learning to PraySample

Prayer Must Be Organized
Good Prayer is organized prayer.
Just as everything in a Christian’s life is always a varying combination of Grace and effort so our Prayer will benefit from planning and structure. Effective Prayer rises from a foundation of careful thought and planning.
When the structure is in place the Life of the Spirit can abound Powerfully. Just as our bodies are organized around the bones of our skeletons so the Holy Spirit works within and on the basis of patterns and routines. When the foundation is laid then the Spirit can build but if there is no structure our experience of Prayer although exciting at times will be chaotic and ultimately disappointing.
Just as our friendships and marriages and families are built and grow on patterns of living, (for example we share meals together), so our fellowship with the Father grows and becomes fruitful as it is established on patterns of meeting with Him.
I labor this point because it is so sad to see many believers fail to take hold of their Inheritance in the Kingdom because they never establish patterns of meeting daily with Jesus.
Every disciple needs a place to pray and a time to pray, (these will change over time). Every disciple must take responsibility for their own progress in the Kingdom. Good Prayer is easier when we’ve got a list of things to pray for. And as we learn the Leading of the Spirit so we shall learn how to move from one "Prayer Field" to another.

About this Plan

The many, many different forms of Prayer are like Fields on a large Farm. You and I are like a farmer living in the center of the Farm. As we pray we move from Field to Field, from one type of Prayer to another. We go into some Fields every day, others only occasionally. Come and join us in this Devotion as we explore what that might look like as we learn to pray together.
