After the CrossSample

When the Holy Spirit comes to live inside of you, you have begun a Tandem Adventure. You aren’t going through life solo anymore. What you see, He sees with you. What you experience, He experiences with you.
And Jesus told us something incredibly interesting about this Tandem Adventure: The Holy Spirit speaks to us, but He doesn’t speak on His own; He only speaks what He hears. Jesus said this: “It is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you” (John 16:14-15). The Holy Spirit hears from Heaven—from God the Father and Jesus Himself—and speaks directly to us. It is a Heavenly Download. Wow. We are going through life with Insights from Heaven.
God, teach us to pay more attention to Your Voice in us, Your Spirit in us, than we do anything else. This world is noisy, and we are easily distracted. Nothing is more important than what You have to say. Help us not to miss a Word.

About this Plan

Although crosses are common to us today, they meant something different during Jesus’ time. The cross was the ultimate form of punishment, an extremely painful form of death that was reserved for the worst of criminals. Jesus experienced this painful, humiliating form of punishment, but the Cross was just the beginning of the story. We’ll look at the significance of the Cross, but also what happened after the Cross.
