Day 1: Beauty in the Pain
Devotion:
In my hardest moments, beauty often feels distant, hidden beneath the weight of my struggles. Yet, when I look back, I can see how pain has shaped me in ways I never expected. My scars—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—testify to my resilience and God’s constant presence in my life.
In my memoir, Beautifully Scarred, I share the daunting journey of undergoing 23 surgeries. Each scar carried its own weight but also whispered a story of survival and transformation. Through those scars, I learned a profound truth: God (used my pain) uses pain to mold me into who I am today.
Today, I choose to embrace the promise that God’s love will never abandon me, even in the darkest valleys. My scars are not the end of my story because they are markers of His redemptive work in my life.
Reflection:
What scars, visible or unseen, remind me of God’s faithfulness? How can my story inspire hope in others?
Action Step:
Write down one scar or difficult experience from your life and reflect on how God used it to shape your character. For example, think about a challenging time at work, in your relationships, or your health, and identify the endurance or growth it produced in you. Consider sharing this reflection with someone who may need encouragement today.
