Victory doesn't always feel like a win
Victory doesn’t always look or feel like a triumphant moment. Sometimes, it’s found in the moments that seem like defeat.
Our plans must seem like foolishness to God, yet to us, it still is heartbreaking when they don’t come to fruition. Perhaps a dream is lost, a friendship ends, a loved one is gone or a long-held prayer feels unanswered. In those moments of ‘loss’, God is often doing something deeper than we can see. It very much can feel like we have lost the battle and lost our way, but God’s plan for us goes beyond the immediate. He is shaping us in ways that are not always visible at first.
Paul, in 2 Corinthians 12:9, writes, ‘But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.’
If you find yourself in a season of what feels like loss, remember that God is not done with you. Sometimes, in what we think is defeat, God is positioning us for something far greater – a deeper relationship with Him, a greater understanding of His grace, and a victory that far exceeds our expectations. Victory is not always about the win. Sometimes, it’s about what God is doing in us when we lose.
