When winning looks like losing
Of all the moments we mark in the Christian calendar, the season of Lent and Easter are the most significant to me. They linger with me long past the dates as I reflect on the moment the devil really thought he’d won the day. Until… ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said’ (Matthew 28:5b–6a, NIV).
There are times in life when it can feel like you’ve done all the right things and you just can’t win. Like every battle you face, you lose. Every hope is deferred. Every enemy in life feels like the victor.
When hopelessness and despair linger at the door of your heart, this is the moment to stir courage and remember Jesus and His greatest victory – the battle He fought so we could eternally be victorious in and through Him.
‘… Do not allow anyone to change your mind. Always do your work well for the Lord. You know that whatever you do for Him will not be wasted…’ (1 Corinthians 15:58 NLV). Also read 1 Corinthians 15:55–58 in the AMP version.
Today may look like a loss. But don’t lose heart. Your battle isn’t over yet. God isn’t finished with you yet. Stand on the promises He has for you today.

About this Plan

“Sometimes, in what we think is defeat, God is positioning us for something far greater – a deeper relationship with Him, a greater understanding of His race, and a victory that far exceeds our expectations” (Victory Doesn’t Always Feel Like A Win – Susie Holt). If you find yourself in a challenging season, be encouraged by this plan as you learn about the victory that you have in Jesus!
