Miracles and Mysteries: Matthew 8-13Sample

How do you respond to the kindness of God?
Jesus rebukes the cities where He performed mighty works—Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum. Despite seeing His miracles firsthand, they refused to repent. He declares that if pagan cities like Tyre, Sidon, and even Sodom had witnessed what they had, they would have turned to God.
This passage is a stark reminder of God’s authority in judgment. Just as the prophets warned Israel (Amos 4:6-12), seeing God’s power without responding in repentance only increases guilt. The greater the revelation of God’s authority, the greater the responsibility we have to respond in repentance.
Today, ponder this: Have you grown numb to the grace of Jesus? How is He calling you to respond today?
