Miracles and Mysteries: Matthew 8-13Sample

What do you think makes a good leader? What characteristics would they have to have in order for you to want to follow them?
Jesus heals many, yet tells them not to make Him known. This is not weakness, but the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy (Isaiah 42:1-4). Unlike earthly rulers who seek power through force, Jesus reveals God’s glory through humble, patient, servant-hearted love. He will bring justice, not by crushing the weak, but by lifting them up.
The world’s idea of power is loud, dominant, and self-promoting. But Jesus does not break the bruised reed or snuff out the smoldering wick. Instead, He restores the broken and weary, showing the very heart of God.
Today, ponder this: Do you trust in Jesus’ leadership and way of bringing justice, or are you tempted to seek power the world’s way?
