Miracles and Mysteries: Matthew 8-13Sample

What do you do when you’re desperate? Where do you turn when everything falls apart?
In this passage, there are two people—one powerful and one powerless—who come to Jesus in desperation. A synagogue leader’s daughter has died, and he begs Jesus to bring her back to life. On the way, a woman who has suffered for twelve years reaches out in faith, touching His cloak. Instantly, she is healed.
Jesus doesn’t just heal the woman physically—He calls her daughter. Then, arriving at the leader’s house, He raises the girl from the dead with just a word.
Jesus responds to those who come to Him in faith, no matter their status or situation. He is never too busy, never too distant, never unable.
Today, ponder this: Where do you place your hope? When all else fails, do you reach for Jesus, trusting that He alone can restore what is broken?
