DAY 4: The Seal of the Word

God’s Law was written on Adam’s heart and remained there during his state of innocence, but it was soon overshadowed by sin. As humanity continued to grow and sin, most people lost the distinction between good and evil.

But through regeneration, by the seal of the Holy Spirit, God’s Law is rewritten in the person who believes in Jesus. The Word of God, stored in their heart, guides all their actions.

Humans were created to represent God’s rule and point to His glory. When Jesus summarized the Law, He said that the entire Law is based on two commandments—the first, to love God, and the second, to love your neighbor.

In the last days, the need to guard the Word of God and seal it even deeper among the disciples of Jesus will increase. The greatest attacks against those who bear God’s name will center on what Jesus said and what He did, ultimately challenging who Jesus is.

Humanistic ideas will increasingly drive people. Satan will promote a false righteousness that opposes God’s plan, ways, and choices.

We will be tested to see if we truly believe in the Gospel, in what Jesus said, and whether we are truly children of the Kingdom or children of this world. Our hearts will be revealed, and the roots of bitterness will be exposed, contaminating many. This will cause much pain, but it is part of the test.

Many will fail. Satan will bring spiritual amnesia into people’s minds. The same deception he used on Eve, he will use against God’s people. He will twist the Word so that we do not hold on and trust in what God has spoken.

The devil has planned to redefine moral ethics, family, gender, and, ultimately, what it means to be human. But the truth is that human beings are created by God in His image.

The narrative pushing these anti-Christ concepts is subtle and has spread over the three to four generations living today. The technologies we already use may be conditioning us to accept a transhumanist and liberal reality that previous generations would have resisted.

We must meditate on the Word of God day and night and understand that Jesus warned us about all these things so we would not fall. True healing, transformation, restoration, justice, and abundant life only come through God’s plan—the Cross of Jesus.

My Prayer:

Almighty God the Father, have mercy on my soul.
Open my eyes to see the schemes of the devil, who seeks to steal, destroy, and kill the Word of God in my heart.
I need to see clearly.
I must honor You rightly.
Holy Spirit, fill me with Your power and understanding of the Word of God that seals me.
Remove me from the path of deception and grant me the Law of Truth.
I hold on to Your Word, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
