There is something special that happens in us when we choose to serve others. It feels like this extra push towards helping us resolve our struggles. We gain perspective, and all of a sudden we get energized and motivated to show up for ourselves. Jesus calls us to live in the freedom that He provides. That means that our life, our choices, our beliefs, and how we respond to those around us are aligned with Him. It can be easy to think that since you have this freedom from fear and sin, you can just keep living like you did before you met Jesus.
In our relationship with Jesus, we see that He wants so much more for our lives. A good way to remember this is to help memorize this verse.
Write out this verse on an index card. Tape it to your mirror. Each morning, read this verse and try to say it out loud two times throughout your day.
