Rest for the Exhausted Momma’s MindSample

Remember That You Are Not Alone
Since we may rarely have moments to ourselves, being a momma can be isolating at times. It doesn’t matter how many voices are begging for our attention. Nor does it matter how packed our calendars are. Life can feel lonely, as though no one really sees or understands the mental load we bear. Depending on our individual situations, we may actually be carrying the mental load without the support of a spouse, reliable family, or trustworthy friend.
The continual planning and mental concern contribute to a momma’s restless mind. I just want to gently remind you that you are never, ever alone, and that means You don’t have to figure it all out on your own. “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking” (James 1:5).
Right here. Right now. Emmanuel, “God with us,” has come (Matthew 1:23). Don’t rush by Him. Don’t wait for a break in your schedule to respond to His prompting in your heart. God came so He could be with us and make available everything we might need. It’s our job to receive it. It’s our job to remember what He has done, focus on what is true, remember what Jesus said about worry, fix our thoughts on what He promises, and hold to the promise that we are never alone.
Reflect:
When do you feel loneliest? Does it help you to envision Jesus with His arms extended, inviting you to come and discover rest for not only your soul, but your mind, heart, and body?
Pray:
Lord, whenever I feel alone, remind me of your presence. Thank you for loving me, caring for me, and providing for me and my family. May I never forget that you are always near and give wisdom generously. I ask in Jesus’ name, amen.
