Easter Changes EverythingSample

Day 2: Pursuing God’s Presence
The weeks before Easter give us the opportunity for reflection, assessment and evaluation. As Christine Caine says, “The whole goal of our Christian life is that we become more like Jesus, and yet we can let just so many things get in the way.”
As we journey through the Lenten season, let’s take a moment to reflect on the immeasurable gift of God's presence. After all, Lent is more than just fasting certain things—it's about creating intentional space for God in our lives. It’s about realigning our hearts and minds to remain focused on his faithfulness, even in times when we falter.
Understandably, life can often feel overwhelming, with anxieties and uncertainties pressing in on every side. But the good news is that we serve a covenant-keeping God. Despite our failings, his faithfulness never wavers. The Israelites, in their wilderness wanderings, recognized the unparalleled value of God's presence. They came to understand that the blessings of God mean nothing without the presence of God. They declared, "We do not want to go without you" (Exodus 33). Their longing for God's nearness mirrors the deepest cry of our own hearts. It reminds us that the ultimate gift is not what God gives but who he is—our hope, our refuge, our everything.
This Lenten season, let’s lay down our distractions and take up the gift of God’s presence. In him we find everything we need: hope for today, strength for tomorrow and a love that never fails.
Today's Reflection Question:
Consider if you’re longing for the things of God more than God himself and take time to linger in his presence.
Prayer:
“Jesus, through your death and resurrection, you have given me full access to you. Show me how to further pursue you and your presence. Help me be transformed by your presence every day. In your name I pray, amen.”
