WAR Fighting an Unseen EnemySample

Day 2:
WHAT IS HIS PLAN?
Not only does the Devil come to kill, still, and destroy (John 10:10), but he prowls like a lion waiting for prey to devour (1 Peter 5:8). Every adversary has a plan to destroy its enemy or it wouldn’t be its enemy. Satan had a plan from day one to separate God from His children. He is a scheming deceiver and father of lies. He will stop at nothing to plant reasonable doubt within us as it relates to God’s love and acceptance. Satan’s true intent is to convince us that our sin is too much for God to redeem and forgive. The Bible is very clear about Jesus dying as the propitiation for our sin (payment in full). He came on a rescue mission (as Pastor Joby Martin says), specifically for all who call upon the name of the Lord as their Savior.
However, the Bible is also very clear that the enemy is on a destructive mission to spiritually ransack and cause confusion in the hearts and minds of those who love God. He understands our trigger points and what causes doubt in our fleshly, carnal minds. Not only does he stoke that fire with false narratives justifying isolation and condemnation, but he also adds his flavor of shame and blame that fuels our self-deprecation. He strategically reminds us of the past where we failed, offended, and betrayed someone, or selfishly indulged in blatant sinful deviance. His best tactic is magnifying moments where we undoubtedly disappointed God and where our disobedience broke God’s heart beyond repair (allegedly).
The most noteworthy aspect of the devil’s schemes and tactics is that he knows more of the Bible than most. He knows enough to blur lines, muddy waters, and counterfeit God’s authenticity. His script is consistent from the moment in the Garden where he asks Eve “Did God really say….”, to the scene above the city where he tempted Jesus with “If you really are the son of man….”. He is a master manipulator of truth and confounds areas of clarity to create irrational questioning in the minds of God’s children. Our enemy is a professional liar whose primary purpose is to keep us on trial, fighting for our souls in the court of spiritual dominion. He is the prosecuting attorney who finds us guilty before a jury of his peers (demons who poke at our areas of sensitivity). Sadly, he can only take what we give him and only has authority when we hand him the keys. We don’t have to believe the lies. We have been given weapons for battle in the spiritual realm. God would never leave us on a battlefield unarmed.

About this Plan

We all have a spiritual enemy. We all encounter a supernatural realm that involves intentional warfare and weaponry. It is time for followers of Christ to lean into the opposition with the tools the Lord provides daily. Failure to engage our spiritual threats puts the hearts and minds of the people we love, lead, and serve at risk. This plan will equip and empower you to experience victory.
