WAR Fighting an Unseen EnemySample

Day 5:
THE FINAL SCORE
We can all agree that watching a recording of your favorite team’s championship game is much more peaceful when you know the outcome is favorable. When I watch a suspenseful movie the second time, I am more relaxed when I know they catch the bad guy in the end. As Christians, we can rest assured in our eternity. We are on the winning team, and we also know our enemy is ultimately defeated. This is good news and should fuel our confidence as we navigate the spiritual battle. Aren’t you more confident picking a fight with a bully when you have your bodyguard by your side? With Jesus as my bodyguard, I can approach my supernatural enemies more assertively and assuredly. Warriors rooted in Christ are wired to rise against an enemy that threatens our spiritual survival. The book of Revelation describes a Jesus who is looking for a fight. A Jesus I am proud to call my Savior. One who rides in on a white horse with a blood-stained robe, His eyes like flames of fire, a sword coming out of His mouth, and a tattoo on His thigh that says “King of Kings and Lord of Lords”.You and I are unconquerable as members of Team Jesus.
That said, I find it disappointing that many Christians avoid, and are fearful of, the book of Revelation. The dragons and blood, as described in the later chapters, have been known to leave the limp-wristed, pearl-clutching religious navel-gazers quivering in their boots. Many ‘Christians’ stay hunkered down in their cozy, comfortable fantasy world full of sunshine and rainbows and without a spiritual big bad wolf. Although not a character in a children’s storybook, or a caricature of a red leotard and pitchfork, Satan is real and he rarely goes away quietly into the good night. He eagerly plants seeds of fear and trepidation as deterrents to our pursuit of truth. He knows if believers read about Angels defeating demons and Jesus’s triumphant return, we will be more likely to celebrate our victory. That is bad for his agenda. Satan knows if we have peace, we have swagger. If we are confident, we are bold. Our swagger is counterproductive to his scheme.
That said, where are the Christian savage warriors; ready to storm the gates of hell with a water pistol?! We are quick to spew venom and hatred on social media but are apprehensive and skeptical when it comes to casting down strongholds and rebuking demonic forces of evil in the supernatural realm. Every war involves two opposing sides. Good versus evil. The warriors who fight from a position of strength and assertion will prevail victorious. We, as followers of Christ, can fight from a position of strength because Jesus already paid our ransom and solidified our place in eternity. The power of His Holy Spirit lives within us and enables us to tread peacefully, with certainty and conviction of our role in maintaining order in the supernatural realm. We have dominion and are responsible for exercising our authority in Jesus's name.

About this Plan

We all have a spiritual enemy. We all encounter a supernatural realm that involves intentional warfare and weaponry. It is time for followers of Christ to lean into the opposition with the tools the Lord provides daily. Failure to engage our spiritual threats puts the hearts and minds of the people we love, lead, and serve at risk. This plan will equip and empower you to experience victory.
