Strength for Tomorrow

DAY 26 OF 30

Day 26: Peter – Strength After Failure

Scripture: Luke 22:54-62; John 21:15-17
Key Verse:
“The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the Lord's word: ‘Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times.’ And he went outside and wept bitterly.” – Luke 22:61-62

Peter was bold, outspoken, and deeply committed to Jesus until the night of His arrest. In fear, Peter denied knowing Him, just as Jesus had foretold. The weight of his failure was crushing, and he wept bitterly.

But Jesus wasn’t done with Peter. After His resurrection, He restored Peter with a simple yet profound question: “Do you love Me?” Three times, Peter had denied Him, and three times, Jesus reaffirmed his calling.

Failure does not disqualify us from God’s purpose. Like Peter, we will fall short. But God’s strength is more significant than our weakness, and His grace restores us. No matter how often we stumble, He is ready to lift and use us for His glory.

Prayer Focus: Pray for the strength to move past failure, embrace God’s grace, and step into His purpose for you.

About this Plan

Strength for Tomorrow

Jesus told us that our weariness comes from carrying a burden that is too heavy for us. Instead, we are supposed to give our problems, cares, and concerns to Him and allow Him to give us the strength to do what He asks. He will teach us to do this over the next 30 days because He is humble and gentle at heart. God's word will show us examples of people throughout scripture who put their burdens in His hands and found rest for their souls.
