A Living HopeSample

DAY 3
Jesus Would Be a Spotless Sacrifice
Throughout history, sacrifices were offered to atone for sin, but they were never enough. The blood of animals could not fully cleanse the hearts of people. A greater sacrifice was needed—one that was perfect and complete.
“You take no delight in sacrifices or offerings. Now that You have made me listen, I finally understand—You don’t require burnt offerings or sin offerings. Then I said, ‘Look, I have come. As is written about me in the Scriptures: I take joy in doing Your will, my God, for Your instructions are written on my heart.’” (Psalm 40:6-8, NLT)
This passage foreshadowed Jesus, the One who would offer Himself as the final and perfect sacrifice. Unlike the Old Testament offerings, which had to be repeated year after year, Jesus’ sacrifice was once and for all. Hebrews 10 confirms this truth:
“For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins... For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.” (Hebrews 10:4,10, NLT)
Jesus willingly gave His life, fulfilling what was written about Him. He was the spotless Lamb, without sin, completely obedient to the Father’s will. His sacrifice not only covered sin but removed it, opening the way for us to be made right with God.
Today, we can rest in the finished work of Christ. There is no need for any further sacrifice—He has done it all. Let’s live in the freedom and gratitude that comes from knowing we are fully forgiven through Him.

About this Plan

Jesus’ resurrection is more than an event in history—it is the foundation of our living hope. As we journey through this Easter devotional, we will link prophecy to fulfilment, tracing how Christ’s life, death, and resurrection were foretold and fulfilled. Let us stand in awe of our risen Saviour, who not only conquered death but offers us new life, firm faith, and an eternal inheritance that can never be shaken.
